Volume XIII Fall 2020
Hey Beautiful People,

Are you putting on your oxygen mask? What? You know. When you are on an airplane and the flight attendant says (while most are ignoring them), "Put the oxygen mask on yourself before helping a child or other person."

Why do they say that? Because if you aren't breathing well, you are no good at helping other people.

When we are not taking care of ourselves in our everyday lives, we will end up inadequately able to help others. Taking care of ourselves does not mean a narcissistic focus on self.

When we possess energy, stamina and good health, we can focus more on others. It's a fact. When I was in poor health, I didn't want to be selfish, but I was. I focused inward because I didn't have the strength to think about anyone else. I could barely help myself.

Putting that oxygen mask on daily means, of course, nourishing yourself with
nutrient dense food, but it means even more. It means adequate sleep,
moving your body daily, laughter, fun, prayer and family time. It also means little things like having your vitamin D levels checked especially in this time of Covid and not overscheduling your time.

These are all things I have to consciously decide to do daily and there are days that I don't hit the mark. I will continue to strive to breath in all those oxygen bursts. When I do, I am so much better at helping others. Are you with me?

Wishing you and family a blessed and meaningful holiday season.

Grace, Peace and Love,

Acella Pharmaceuticals, LLC, the makers of NP Thyroid, hired me to write blog posts for the company. Strengthening our thyroid glands can be one of the most important things we do for our health. These are nutrients that will benefit you in so many ways.

Certain nutrients are crucial in aiding your thyroid to work at optimally. What are they? Read and find out.

Susan came to me on several different medications for high blood pressure and rheumatoid arthritis.

I was so proud of her for following through with all of my recommendations. I was also happier than a pig in slop when she came off so many medications. This is because Susan's body healed and she was able to greatly reduce inflammation.

"Lindy is a wealth of knowledge. Doctors simply aren't trained to see food and good supplements as an option to fight disease. I've suffered with RA (rheumatoid arthritis) for over 20 years and have been on many medication combinations. After changing my diet and and adding anti inflammatory supplements, I'm off all my medications (approx 7) except my Humira. I even take much less of the Humira. If you have health issues and don't want to go the standard prescription drug route, consider Lindy, She'll be able to work with you and get you on your way to better health!"
Blood Sugar Support
Vital Nutrients
When I first started my practice years ago, I used several clinically proven nutrients to lower blood sugar in my pre diabetes/diabetes patients. I did my homework and found this formulation that had most of these nutrients. I always use food first and put these people on a pancreas stabilization, anti inflammatory, blood sugar lowering diet. When this supplement is combined, I've seen amazing drops in A1C (a diabetic marker).

This is a supplement that I take daily being a "diabetic ready to happen."

It's important to work with a health care practitioner before starting any supplement. If you have Afib or certain heart conditions, you should not take this supplement.

for Weight Loss & Low Carb Diet
Eating a nutrient dense, low carb diet is best for many of us. We also know that vegetables are essential. The video breaks it down and helps you understand which ones will benefit you most.

I was honored to be nominated for Wilma Magazine's Yearly Women to Watch in the health category. This was a challenging year for this nomination. Instead of the big gala celebration, the awards ceremony was a small affair at a rooftop restaurant in the Wilmington Convention Center with just the finalists. It was lovely, but sad in many ways. Nevertheless, I was honored.
For several years, my husband Bryan and I have supported an incredible woman, Sue Witt, in Haiti. "Miss Sue" is a retired school teacher from the US who now lives in Haiti. She traveled there 20 years ago to teach, but God had other plans. People saw her care and kindness and continued to bring her children. Now Sue cares for upwards of 50 children and primarily uses her retirement funds to do this.

We have tried for the past 2 years to get back to Haiti to help Miss Sue, but because of national unrest and Covid, we are unable. When we were working there in 2018, I was able to work with one of Sue's kids, Shelly, who presents with CP. You can't imagine how excited I was when Sue told me that Shelly is now walking! This was because of constant PT and being nurtured. Sue is the person I want to be "when I grow up."
I just received word from Miss Sue and wonderful things are always happening. They just saved a baby
found in an outside toilet and now Sue can care for her.

Unfortunately, she also wrote:
"The exchange rate here in Haiti is still so low. Our buying power has basically been cut in half as of two months ago. The rate is down and the prices are up. We continue to try our best to change and manage our food budget to assist in this drastic change. We are learning to become very wise shoppers."

No pressure, but let me know if you can help Sue's Children's Home in any way. Your donation will be securely handled in the US and is tax deductible. To donate, please email me at lindy@lindyfordwellness.com
Lindy Ford understands the power of nutrition personally. Several years ago she applied nutritional protocols to overcome a debilitating health crises.

This is one of the reasons Lindy’s passion is helping people achieve greater freedom through wellness and nutrition. She holds a degree in Nutritional Science and Dietetics from the University of Maryland. Lindy also holds a degree in Theatre / Communications from Towson University (weird, she knows). She is a Registered Dietitian and Licensed Nutritionist.

Lindy loves her job. She runs a private nutrition practice in Wilmington, NC, but counsels people all over the US through video conferencing. Lindy practices functional/integrative nutrition or “what works nutrition.” The goal is to get to the root of the problem and then base treatment on up-to-date science. This approach takes longer, but the results are superior and long-lasting.

Lindy’s patients have particularly benefited from her expertise in issues related to blood sugar, heart disease, weight control, the GI system and the thyroid.
